One of the most attractive things about Joan Crawford to me is the tiny spaces of shadow at the corners of her mouth when she talks.

    One of the most attractive things to me is the contradiction between her soft-as-silk voice and the hardness of her character. This was particularly in evidence in "Mildred Pierce."
